JILLIAN LEE SMITH
Jillian Smith (she/her) recently graduated from Muhlenberg College with a degree of Theatre with concentrations in Acting, Directing, and Performance Studies. During her time at Muhlenberg, she completed a Videography track and worked for the Marketing Department of Theatre and Dance as a dance videographer and editor. College credits include: Merriman in The Importance of Being Earnest, The Narrator in The Saint Plays, and Videographer for Magic!. In 2024, she had the absolute pleasure of traveling to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to assistant produce two plays, Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind and The Night Children (World Premiere) with the Los Angles Theatre Initiative. She was also in attendance the year previously as a performer among the same company and venue (Greenside Venues). In 2022, her short film, La Vie en Rose, was selected for the American Screendance Festival. She has her theatrical roots in Massachusetts performing as Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown: The Musical, Madame Thénardier in Les Misérables, The Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz, and more! During high school, she was president of the theatre department, Center Stage, and improv captain. As a director, she gained numerous experience teaching and directing youth theatre for Skyrise Theatre where she has worked since 2015. In her two year stay, she directed over 30 full-length musical productions, as well as private acting coaching, social media management for the company, and teaching a variety of performance classes. She also worked as an acting assistant at the Hanover Theatre Conservatory in Worcester, MA. Her acting technique includes Stanislavski, Meisner, Anne Bogart's Viewpoints, and Laban. She is currently based in the NYC/NJ area.
